All I Want For Christmas...

I always have such a hard time figuring out what I want for Christmas and my family gets so irritated with me. I've been thinking about what I want this year, and even though I had a really hard time with it, I am putting my list on here.

Movies...I love them and will not reject any given to me.

Socks... I'm a real big fan. And I have like four pairs left.

I really am a huge nerd and love, love, love books. I don't own many, but I would like to.

I can't help myself...red high top converse. Aren't they beautiful?

And lastly...brightly colored nail polish to enhance my "fun side".

Three of my roommates and I decided not to go to family home evening one Monday night because of unnecessary drama and the fact that everyone likes everyone and we are the only ones that do not find our FHE brothers attractive. (And the activity was karaoke, which, those who know me well, I don't go for.) So we skipped and went to the local HORKley's to get humongous soda cups. When we got home we made massive amounts of cookie dough and put them in bowls (as pictured below).

So I ended up getting a massive stomach ache and a new apreciation for tums.

Sherwood Concert!

A few weeks ago, I was walking down main street with my awesome Canadian roommate Tayler, when I looked into a window and saw that one of my favorite bands called Sherwood was playing there! I was so excited and tickets were only $10. Tayler never heard of them but I convinced her to go with me anyway. Actually about 6 or 7 of us went together. We got there and 2 really amazing bands played (Barcelona and The Pink Spiders). I totally touched the lead singer of the Pink Spider's guitar. Yeah, we were that close! Then...out came Sherwood! Oh, it was so mind-blowing that they were right there! We had so much fun. We got to meet all the bands and Nate Henry (lead singer of Sherwood) signed the back of my cell phone! Eeee!

Oh! And after the concert we went to Tacobell (cause we were starving!) and we were blasting Sherwood music. We pulled up behind a car at the drive-thru and it was Sherwood! My friends got out and looked at the menu thing but really just stared at them. I got out too. They probably thought I was insane because I just stood there stunned with such a stupid expression on my face. But that was absolutely epic. Such an amazing night and I will never forget it!

I love to see the temple!

So my two of my roommates and I took a walk one sabbath day. It was quite a walk, considering we decided to walk all the way around campus instead of just cutting through. But it was still enjoyable. We also had to walk uphill for quite a while, but it was worth it as we came up... and there it was! The temples have yet to make me not catch my breath every time I see them. We were seriously there for about an hour, taking hundreds of pictures (me with my phone :( because i have no camera). we were also fortunate to watch the sunset in the background. The effect was, as you can imagine, breathtaking. We decided to (grudgingly) get back home before it got too dark and got honked at three (count 'em three) times by boys in hot cars. Overall, it was an great day.

Amy is my name...

Just a few things about me:
-I am a major bookworm. Is there anyone else that can get so involved in a book that he/she refuses to put it down, and when he/she finally finishes it, he/she goes through a period of depression where the book is all he/she thinks about? (I told you!)
-I have a particular addiction to peanut butter fudge where I gain at least 10 pounds whenever I can get my hands on some.
-I love Jane Austen and will read and/or watch any of her works.
-You can usually find me listening to music of all different kinds. You may also be unfortunate enough to find me singing along.
-I wish I was Sleeping Beauty.
-I love to look for rainbows (whenever there is rain) in my spare time.

BYU-Idaho!

I'm finally here at school and I'm having the time of my life! Besides getting lost multiple times, having sore legs and getting late to my math class, I love every second! Campus is beautiful and everyone smiles all the time. It was strange for me at first, because my high school was full of grumpy people and if I happened to make eye contact with someone down the halls, they would look away. If, even more rare, I got a chance to smile, they would look at me suspiciously and start walking faster. Now I don't know if it was just me or not.
Ah, my roomies are amazing! I am really lucky to live with them. Oh, but they are ALL completely boy-crazy and I'm not. (I'm man-crazy) Ha! Just joking. Then again, no. I'm kinda serious.
Anywho, I miss my family quite a bit. Especially my nieces. I'm kind of obsessive actually. I look at pictures of them every night before I go to bed. ( I told you.)
The thing I really love about this school though is that I finally feel like I fit in somewhere. I don't have to worry about people using dirty language or seeing more of a person's body than I EVER wished to see. It's amazing! Another thing is that the men here are so respectful. I no longer hold the door open for boys! Yay!
I really am incredibly grateful to be here and I'm looking forward to other adventures!

Off To School!

So I'm leaving tomorrow for school and I am absolutely thrilled. I am excited to be living on my own (or at least as much as I can with 5 other girls). The only thing I am going to miss about my tiny hometown is my 2 adorable nieces. I got to watch them all this summer and loved every second. Today is my last day and I just can't get enough of them.

Sweet facts about my nieces:
-Haylee loves to play with my hair. Especially when she's tired. She gets upset when I get up because she cannot play with my hair then.

-Carlee is usually very sweet. Actually one of the most mellow babies I have ever seen. But when she does get upset, she loves it when I sing rock-a-bye baby to her. Which is amazing if you think about it because my voice sounds like a dying animal. She also laughs when I whistle.

- Emily isn't here yet but I love to talk to her (baby talk of course) through April's tummy and she gives me a swift kick in the hand. It's very sweet. Though she is probably just trying to get me to shut up. HayleeCarleeEmily
